Light Vehicle Technician

We are looking for an experienced Light Vehicle Technician to join our team in Acharacle, responsible for diagnosing, repairing and maintaining a variety of vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in vehicles using diagnostic tools and equipment. 
  • Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, changing tyres, brake inspections and fluid checks.
  • Repair or replace faulty components such as engines, transmissions, brakes, and steering systems.  
  • Conduct thorough inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety and performance standards. Maintain accurate records of repairs, services, and parts used.  
  • Communicate effectively with customers to explain issues, repair options, and costs.  
  • Stay updated on the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques.  
  • Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations

Essential Requirements:

  • Fully experienced or qualified vehicle mechanic with the ability to confidently diagnose faults and carry out repairs 
  • Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions.

£45,000 to £52,000 annual salary dependant on experience

HGV Class 1 Driver

We are looking for an experienced HGV Class 1 driver to join our team in Acharacle, specialising in local breakdown and recovery work, as well as long-distance vehicle transport and general haulage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to roadside breakdowns, accident callouts etc and carry out on-site assessments and repairs where possible.
  • Safely recover, tow or transport vehicles to designated locations.
  • Maintain accurate callout, recovery and incident records in our reporting systems. 
  • Assist in the garage workshop with vehicle maintenance and repairs.
  • Complete daily vehicle safety checks and report defects promptly. 
  • Operate a variety of vehicles from our modern fleet.

Essential Requirements:

  • HGV Class 1 license with minimum 2 years driving experience.
  • Comprehensive mechanical knowledge with the ability to confidently diagnose faults and carry out effective roadside repairs. 
  • Trailer towing experience
  • Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
  • Comfortable with nights out in the lorry (allowance provided)

Work Pattern & Benefits:

  • Monday-Friday, plus 1 weekend in 4 on rota.
  • Excellent rate of pay
  • Overnight allowance.
